Our approach

We invest in technology to deliver safer and more efficient production at our Pilgangoora Operation and across our growth portfolio.

Our strategy focuses on operational excellence, systematic productivity improvements and capital discipline.

We integrate advanced process control systems and real-time monitoring to optimise production and improve product quality. Additionally, we are investing in on-site energy infrastructure to reduce carbon intensity and reliance on fossil fuels.

Technology and innovation
in practice

We use technology to improve production and sustainability across the value chain with a number of projects deployed at our Pilgangoora Operation.

The world's largest lithium ore sorter, which was completed as part of the P680 Expansion Project, uses sensor-based sorting technology to separate spodumene from waste rock early in the process, improving recovery and reducing downstream resource consumption.

Our Mid-Stream Demonstration Plant Project features the world's first industrial-scale electric spodumene calciner, with the potential to reduce the carbon intensity of hard rock lithium processing when powered by renewable energy. 

Underpinning these projects are our on-site energy transition initiatives, including battery storage and natural gas, which are reducing emissions intensity and supporting future expansion.

Our cybersecurity program safeguards both corporate and operational technology environments, with security considerations embedded into how we design, procure and deploy new technologies.

Artificial intelligence

We are applying artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and advanced analytics to optimise operational performance and support more informed decision-making.

Our AI Adoption Strategy provides guidance on how AI technologies are deployed securely, ethically and responsibly across our operations.

As part of our capability uplift, key roles have completed generative AI training, building awareness of AI‑driven threats and responsible usage practices.
