We are committed to respecting human rights and upholding fair, safe, and inclusive working conditions across our global operations and value chain. This commitment is guided by international standards, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), and the principles of the UN Global Compact.
Our approach ensures that human rights considerations are integrated into our policies, systems and operational practices, ensuring risks are identified and managed across our business and value chain.
It applies to all directors, employees and contractors, and we expect our suppliers and business partners to uphold standards consistent with our own.
Our approach includes assessing potential impacts on workers, communities and other stakeholders, and implementing controls to prevent, mitigate and address risks. This includes ongoing due diligence and supply chain activities.
We recognise that as a mining company operating on the traditional lands of First Nations peoples, and as a participant in global supply chains for critical minerals, we have a particular responsibility to understand and manage the human rights risks associated with our activities.
Cross-functional teams support implementation, including Sustainability, Procurement, Legal and Operations, ensuring human rights considerations are integrated into decision-making.
We apply due diligence processes across our operations and supply chain to identify and manage risks, supported by policies, procedures and ongoing monitoring.
This includes providing safe and healthy workplaces, paying fair wages, respecting the rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining, and maintaining zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination and any form of forced or compulsory labour.
We maintain processes to identify and manage risks related to working conditions, health and safety, and workforce wellbeing.
Modern slavery practices, including slavery, servitude, human trafficking and forced or compulsory labour, have no place in our business or in the businesses we work with.
We take a risk-based approach to identifying and addressing modern slavery risks across our operations and supply chain. This includes assessing supplier risks, implementing due diligence processes and engaging with suppliers to promote responsible practices.
Our approach to modern slavery is guided by the Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) and is supported by our Human Rights Policy. We publish an annual Modern Slavery Statement that outlines our efforts to identify, respond to and mitigate modern slavery risks across our operations and supply chain.
In Australia, our relationships with the Nyamal and Kariyarra Peoples are supported by formal agreements and ongoing engagement. In Brazil, we acknowledge the quilombola community of Olaria Bagres near our Colina Project and the specific rights these communities hold under the Brazilian Constitution. Across both jurisdictions, we are committed to protecting cultural heritage and pursuing free, prior and informed consent in our interactions.
For more details on our approach, please refer to our First Nations and traditional communities’ page.
These processes support timely investigation and resolution of issues, while protecting confidentiality and ensuring non-retaliation. We use insights from grievance mechanisms to strengthen systems and improve risk management.
We monitor human rights risks and actions across our operations and value chain, including supplier engagement and compliance activities.
